Why did you choose to attend LSU?
I chose to attend LSU because of the endless opportunities I knew it could offer me. I knew that I would be able to pursue any topic I was interested in at LSU, and I knew that my peers, faculty, and administration wanted to see me succeed and were willing to help me along the way. Plus, the campus oak trees are awe-inspiring.

What extracurricular programs are you involved in?

As of now, I am only involved in Louisiana State University’s Cloud Watching Club and the GeauxTeach program, but I hope to be involved in undergraduate research and the LASAL program in the future.

How has your enrollment in the Honors College enhanced your LSU experience?
The Honors College has given me an unparalleled amount of confidence in both my abilities and my future. The faculty in the Honors College made me feel at home immediately, and they have been the most nurturing, kind people; they genuinely want me to succeed in my endeavors, and they are the best support system I could ask for at LSU. In the brief time that I have been in the Honors College, I have gotten closer to orienting my goals around what I am passionate about, and I have been pushed out of my comfort zone in the amazing classes that they offer.

What would you say to the donors of LSU, specifically the Stamps Scholarship Program?
Thank you for believing in the higher education of today’s youth. You have given many students the freedom and opportunity to follow their dreams and be a catalyst for change. Through your donations, you have impacted the lives of countless individuals and their families, and I and every other Stamps Scholar are infinitely grateful for your contribution. Thank you for this opportunity, and thank you for lifting the financial burden off my family’s shoulders.

What is your favorite memory as an LSU Stamps Scholar?
As of now, my favorite memory would have to be the discussion the Stamps Scholars and Presidential Alumni Scholars had with Dr. Arms about inequity. I felt at home for some reason, even though the entire experience and place was still very new to me. A close second would have to be winning a round of Mario Kart against Hamood Qureshi, a fellow Stamps Scholar.
