Why did you choose to attend LSU?
Though I was resolute that any school I picked would have incredibly strong academics, I also had a “wish list” of things I wanted to see in my college, including a strong sense of school pride, athletic events, and snowy winters. LSU is a great fit for me, though its winters are a bit balmier than expected. I’m proud to be an LSU Tiger!

What extracurricular programs are you involved in?
I am involved in the President’s Future Leaders in Research program. I work as an undergraduate researcher in the Motor Behavior & Cognition Lab with my mentor, Dr. Marc Dalecki. The lab is a part of the School of Kinesiology and studies a variety of topics, from underlying mechanisms that affect concussion recovery to an individual’s decision-making process in virtual reality.

What is your proudest accomplishment at LSU so far?
It’s a silly thing, but I was able to snag a front-row seat in the student section at a football game and get a picture with Mike the Tiger! In the future, I hope to explore more of my interests and enjoy my time experiencing all Louisiana has to offer.

What does receiving the Stamps Scholarship mean to you and your family?
This scholarship has given me the opportunity to completely focus on being a student. Few are lucky enough to have the chance to freely explore their interests without worrying about the cost. It has completely changed the way I want to approach my college experience for the better. It has allowed my family to give back while becoming more involved in the LSU community. It also has taken a lot of pressure off of them financially. They were recently selected as members of the LSU Family Council, and they will serve as ambassadors between the LSU Family Organization, the university administration, and the larger LSU community.

How has your enrollment in the Honors College enhanced your LSU experience?
Being in the Honors College has allowed me to meet and interact with students outside my major from all over the country. It’s a diverse community that encompasses students from different backgrounds and viewpoints, allowing for great interactions and growth experiences through class and conversation.
