2024 Year-end Giving

Thank you for including LSU in your end-of-year giving! Your generosity will ensure that LSU students, faculty, and staff continue to lead in research and academic excellence.

In-Person

If you would like to deliver your gift in person, please visit the LSU Foundation Center for Philanthropy (3796 Nicholson Drive, Baton Rouge, LA 70802) weekdays between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. In accordance with IRS guidelines, gifts must be received by Tuesday, December 31. 

The LSU Foundation will have special hours during the winter holiday break. Our building will close at 4:30 p.m. Friday, December 20, 2024, and will resume regular office hours at 8 a.m. Thursday, January 2, 2025. We will offer 3 holiday gift drop-off opportunities at our building: 

  • 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Friday, December 27
  • 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday, December 30
  • 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Tuesday, December 31 


Online

To make a gift online, visit giveLSU.org. Credit cards must be processed in 2024 to qualify for charitable giving tax credit this year, which means that your gift transaction must be fully processed (approved by the card issuer) by Tuesday, December 31.

 

 

Mail

All mailed checks should be made payable to the LSU Foundation, with the fund of your choice written in the memo line, then mailed to LSU Foundation, 3796 Nicholson Drive, Baton Rouge, LA 70802.

  • U.S. Postal Service – Postmarked by December 31
  • Private Delivery – (e.g., FedEx, UPS) Physically received by organization by December 31

 

IRA Charitable Rollover

If you are 70½ years old or older, you can give up to $105,000 annually from your IRA without having to pay income taxes on the money. For more information on how to make an IRA Charitable Rollover gift in 2024, visit lsufoundation.planmylegacy.org/ira-charitable-rollover.

 

 

Stock

Instructions for making a gift of appreciated stock can be found at lsufoundation.org/stock. All stock transfers must be complete by Tuesday, December 31. Please let Kate Spikes (kspikes@lsufoundation.org) and Nicole Breaux (nbreaux@lsufoundation.org) know if a donor is sending stock.
