John M. Engquist

John M. Engquist of Baton Rouge is executive chairman of the board of H&E Equipment Services, Inc., a position to which he was appointed on January 1, 2019. Previously, Engquist had served as chief executive officer and director of the company since its formation in September 2005 and was president from that time until November 2012. He served as president, CEO and director of H&E LLC from its formation in June 2002 until its merger with and into H&E Equipment Services, Inc. in 2006. He served in executive leadership roles with predecessor companies of H&E LLC prior to 2002.

Engquist serves as a director on the boards of a number of private companies, including Mohawk Industries, Inc., based in Calhoun, Georgia. He is on the Leadership Council of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tenn., and serves on the Board of Directors and Finance Committee of Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, based in Baton Rouge.
