MY LSU
Why did you choose to build a career with the LSU Foundation?
During my time working in the for-profit sector, there was always something about
it that I didn’t like but could never figure out exactly what that was. It became
crystal clear when I joined the LSU Foundation. I needed my work to have more meaning
than just keeping a business going. The LSU Foundation gave my work purpose in bettering
education and making it more accessible to all.
What does a typical day look like for you?
A typical day for me starts with reading through my emails and checking my calendar
for shoots or upcoming deadlines. If I have a shoot, I will work through a checklist
to make sure I have my equipment packed, batteries charged, and SD cards formatted.
I arrive at shoots between 30 minutes to an hour ahead of shoot time to set up the
equipment and determine the best shot angle for the location. If I don’t have a shoot,
I am typically editing or animating at my desk.
Tell us about your favorite work win or moment when you truly felt the impact of your
work.
My favorite work win was being a part of the Philips Family Scholarship videos. The
project was initially going to be an on-location shoot in Houston and then was quickly
pivoted due to Covid-19. Even after plans changed, we were still able to create a
very meaningful message about scholarships. The reception of the video was very warm,
and I love the impact that it has had.
Where is your favorite place on campus?
I love the lakes on South Stadium Drive across from Parker Coliseum. I like to watch
the goofy ducks and all of the other wildlife. I find that it is a very peaceful part
of campus, and I try to take my lunch break there as much as I can.
