Wanda Kuo joined the LSU Foundation at the beginning of 2022 as the associate director of recruitment and retention. She holds two master’s degrees, one in clinical psychology and another in business administration. Prior to joining the LSU Foundation, she had been a psychotherapist, a teacher, an HR business partner, and an executive recruiter. She loves the fact that her current position allows her to make genuine connections with people, identify great talent, and cultivate an engaging and encouraging work environment.

Why did you choose to build a career with the LSU Foundation?
I love playing a small role in supporting students’ pursuit of higher education and providing resources for faculty to expand our collective reservoir of knowledge through research and teaching. 

What does a typical day look like for you?
Every day is different, but it all involves juggling a number of things like sourcing, interviewing, onboarding new hires, supporting DEI initiatives, and collaborating with my fabulous Talent Management team to put on different employee engagement events. 

Tell us about your favorite work win or moment when you truly felt the impact of your work.
It is intensely rewarding to look around at the wonderful colleagues I work with and know that I get to shape our organization’s culture every day through hiring great people and putting on meaningful initiatives. 

Where is your favorite place on campus?
The Art + Design building. Just walking around the building inspires my creativity.
