Ayana Cherry began her career at the LSU Foundation in early 2023 when she was hired
as a director of development. Ayana is fulfilled by her supportive team members and
loves interactions with donors. She is proud to be a staff member of the LSU Foundation
because she loves supporting her alma mater.

Why did you choose to build a career with the LSU Foundation?
I chose to build a career with the Foundation because of the organization’s mission
to support LSU students, faculty, donors, and campus.
What does a typical day look like for you?
Any typical day is never typical working for the Foundation. Every day is filled with
something new and different and provides an opportunity for growth.
Tell us about your favorite work win or moment when you truly felt the impact of your
work.
My favorite work-win was my very first in-person meeting with a donor. I was able
to have a great conversation with a great individual.
Where is your favorite place on campus?
My favorite place on campus is the Nicholson Drive Starbucks.
