MY LSU
Why did you choose to build a career with the LSU Foundation?
I’m inspired by the personal act of philanthropy as a tool for change, and how giving
can transform communities and improve the lives of our students. I am grateful to
work at the LSU Foundation, where I have an opportunity to impact LSU students, the
community, and my home state of Louisiana.
What does a typical day look like for you?
I am not sure there is a “typical” day in the life of a fundraiser. My day consists
of many different meetings, emails, text messages and phone calls. So, a typical day
doesn’t really exist.
Tell us about your favorite work win or moment when you truly felt the impact of your
work.
I have been very fortunate to see the impact of my work throughout my career. Recently,
I had the opportunity to work with a couple that started an endowed graduate scholarship
to honor their daughter who had been a professor at LSU. They were also interested
in naming a lab in the new Interdisciplinary Science Building in her honor. Through
their philanthropic gift, the parents were able to realize the impact of their daughter’s
work at LSU, as well as honor her through an endowment and naming opportunity that
will live on in perpetuity. This was my first big win at LSU, and this will forever
be extremely special to me. I am honored to have been a part of this and the impact
that it will have on future students.
Where is your favorite place on campus?
My favorite place on campus is sitting under the live oaks in the Quad. It was also
my favorite place when I was a student.
