Donald W. Keller

Donald “Don” W. Keller of Houston, Texas, is a managing partner of K Plus Investments. He began his career in 1957 with Exxon, spent 26 years with Quintana Petroleum, then founded Enerfin Resources Co., where he was president and CEO until he sold his interest in 2008. Keller is an alumnus of LSU, where he received a bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering in 1957. He was inducted into the LSU College of Engineering Hall of Distinction in 2008. Within the College of Engineering, Keller and his wife, Gayle, have established the Donald W. and Gayle A. Keller Petroleum Engineering Facility Maintenance and Support Fund; the Keller Petroleum Engineering Building Equipment and Furnishings Fund; the Donald W. and Gayle A. Keller Distinguished Professorship; the Keller Family Scholarship for Texas Residents; and the Donald W. and Gayle A. Keller Well Facility Classroom. Keller also served on the petroleum engineering committee for the Forever LSU Campaign. The Kellers have three children, Kevin, Barbara, and Stephen.

What is your favorite memory involving LSU?
Meeting my wife. 

What makes LSU unique?
It has improved the lives of many people like me by providing a well-rounded education before beginning a career. 

Why did you choose to attend LSU?
LSU had the best-rated Department of Petroleum Engineering in the South.

Why do you support LSU?
To give something back to the university and support the education system at LSU for all future students.

What is your vision for LSU, and how do you think philanthropy can drive that vision?
Giving back to LSU has always been an important consideration for my wife and me. We have done many things to help make LSU an exceptional university so as to improve the quality of education at LSU for future generations. I would like to continue to assist LSU in any way that I can.
