Leonard K. “Lenny” Lemoine has served as both an executive and principal with construction management and contracting firms for over forty years. Under his leadership, LEMOINE has established itself as a market leader in both public and private sectors of Building Construction, Disaster Response and Recovery, and Program Management. Lenny graduated from Cottonport High School in 1973 and received a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Business from Louisiana State University in 1979. He began his building career at Cottonport Lumber Company, a family-owned retail lumber yard. As the yard’s assets were sold in 1979, Lenny and his brother, Tim, transitioned the business to a general contracting and construction management firm, relocating to Lafayette. Lenny was responsible for developing operational control systems to manage consistent growth and geographic diversification, instrumental in the firm’s survival of the oilfield collapse in the 1980s. In 2001, Lenny assumed his current role as Chief Executive Officer of LEMOINE. Lenny places paramount focus on relationships and believes they are the foundation on which successful projects are built. Through this relationship-focus model, LEMOINE has garnered an 80% repeat customer base, a testament that projects built on solid relationships lay the framework for continued success. An advocate of improving employees’ lives and organizational performance, Lenny is an avid promoter of company sponsored leadership training and strategic planning initiatives which generate individual empowerment and opportunities for growth. He is the flag bearer for the company’s focus on excellence, innovation, and advanced delivery models to meet the shifting needs of today’s clients. LEMOINE has risen over 100 spots on Engineering News Record’s (ENR) Top 400 Contractors list in the last 3 years, currently ranked #186 nationwide and #32 regionally which comprises Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas, and Oklahoma. The top general builder in Louisiana, the firm has also received numerous top safety awards through ENR. Associated Builders & Contractors (ABC) has awarded the organization its STEP (Safety Training and Evaluation Process) certification for over a decade. LEMOINE presently holds a STEP Diamond Certification, the highest level achievable. Diamond-certified firms average 655% safer results than the Bureau of Labor Statistics average. ABiz Magazine recognized Lenny as “Entrepreneur of the Year” in 2013. He was named a Gulf Coast Area winner of Ernst & Young LLP’s Entrepreneur of the Year in 2018 and was a National Cox Conserves Hero honoree in 2019. Lenny is a staunch supporter of the firm’s philanthropic outreach provided through LEMOINE’s Built to Serve initiative, primarily supporting three key areas: those fighting and surviving cancer, disadvantaged youth, and deployed members of the U.S. Armed Forces, among others. Lenny was instrumental in the successful launch of AMIkids Acadiana, dedicated to helping kids discover the potential within them, transform their lives, and strengthen our community. The program empowers our kids through care and guidance to reach that potential and, as a result, breaks the cycle of failure and poverty. He also spearheaded the launch of Bastion, an intentional community in which wounded, ill, or injured veterans live alongside retired military and volunteers as they reintegrate into civilian society. He currently serves as Chairman of Lafayette Central Park Inc., the group driving the creation of Moncus Park, a new 100-acre, world-class central park in the heart of Lafayette, Louisiana. Lenny is an active community member throughout Louisiana and has been affiliated with numerous institutional, business, and philanthropic organizations. He has been a member of the Board of Directors for Community Foundation of Acadiana, the University of Louisiana at Lafayette Foundation, Our Lady of Lourdes Foundation, Oakbourne Country Club, and St. Thomas More Catholic High School Foundation, among others. He has served the construction industry in multiple leadership positions as an ABC regional and national Board of Directors member, ABC Pelican Chapter President, and a member of the State of Louisiana Board of Commerce and Industry. Lenny has been married to Christine for over 30 years. They have two children, Ryan and Caroline. Ryan is a graduate of West Point Military Academy and has completed two tours in Afghanistan. He then obtained his MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and currently serves as a Vice President at Bernhard Capital Partners. Caroline is a graduate of the University of Georgia and is employed with Gensler, a global architecture and design firm.
