Mark E. Zetzmann
Mark Zetzmann, a resident of Metairie, La., is an alumnus of LSU who earned a Bachelor of Science degree in 1983. Upon graduation, Mark joined the family business in soft drink distribution. Zetz Seven-Up Bottling Company (New Orleans, Baton Rouge area) was awarded in 1929 and was the fifth 7-UP franchise in the U.S. Zetz became one of the premier bottlers in terms of per capita sales and was eventually sold in 1990. Mark was employed at Zetz after completing college until its sale in 1990. Soon after, he joined International Game Technology (IGT), a Fortune 500 company, and spent most of his career in the Government Division and traveled extensively. He left IGT in early 2013 and now spends his time on stock investments and overseeing the Robert E. Zetzmann Family Foundation, the family's philanthropic endeavor. Their primary focus at LSU has been the E.J. Ourso College of Business. In 2011, they contributed to the Business Education Complex, and starting in 2015, they have been providing scholarships to incoming students. In the 2024 academic year, the Zetzmann Family will award their ninth scholarship.
