Patricia C. Bodin

Headshot of Patricia C. Bodin, LSU Foundation National Board Member.Patricia “Pat” C. Bodin of Houston, Texas, is a retired chief information officer and vice president of ExxonMobil Corporation and has received numerous national awards and honors for her contributions to the field of information technology. She graduated from LSU in 1972 with a degree in mathematics and did graduate work in finance and accounting at the University of Houston. While attending LSU, she was a member of Kappa Delta and also an LSU Basketball cheerleader. A former member and chair of the LSU Alumni Association’s National Board of Directors, she has been recognized for her philanthropy with awards from both the LSU Alumni Association and the LSU Foundation. In 2014, Bodin was honored to be named the LSU Alumna of the Year. Additionally, she was earlier inducted into both the LSU E. J. Ourso College of Business and the LSU College of Science Halls of Distinction. Bodin is a member of the College of Science Dean’s Circle. She is married to Dr. Eric Bodin.

 
 

My LSU Giving Story

What is your favorite memory involving LSU?
The opportunity to be a basketball cheerleader during the reign of Pete Maravich. He brought basketball back to LSU and the SEC.

What makes LSU unique?
The work ethic and family values of its graduates. LSU provides a stellar academic program at an affordable price.

Why did you choose to attend LSU?
My father was a proud LSU alumnus and first-generation college graduate. LSU offered this small-town girl an opportunity for a top-notch education not too far from home.

Why do you support LSU?
I attribute much of my career success and life success to my LSU education.

If someone asked you why he/she should make a gift to LSU, what would you say?
LSU has opened many doors for success to its graduates. Giving to LSU ensures that those same doors will be open to future generations.

What is your vision for LSU?
To be recognized nationally as a leader amongst state universities with several programs that are unique to LSU and nationally and internationally renowned. 

What motivated you to accept our invitation to be an inaugural member of the LSU Foundation National Board?
I’d like to offer my advice and expertise to university leadership and help bring LSU to a new level of greatness. 

What most excited you about being part of the National Board?
Having the opportunity to directly influence the short and long-term direction of LSU.
