Robert S. Dampf
Robert Dampf is a partner in Perry Dampf Dispute Solutions, a mediation and arbitration company headquartered in Baton Rouge, La. This company is proud to have been recognized by the LSU100 for being owned and led by LSU graduates. Robert recently retired from Stockwell, Sievert, Viccellio, Clements and Shaddock, where he practiced law for 38 years after having served as a law clerk for one year for the Louisiana State Courts of Appeal. As a mediator and arbitrator, he has conducted more than 5,000 mediations and lectured on the negotiation and mediation process throughout the United States. A native of Baton Rouge, Robert attended public schools in East Baton Rouge Parish. In 1976, he received a Bachelor of Science degree with honors from Southern Methodist University. In 1979, he received a Juris Doctorate from the Louisiana State University Law Center. Robert has been an active member in both local and state bar associations. He has served the Southwest Bar Association in numerous capacities, including being president of the association. Within the Louisiana State Bar, he has served as a bar grader, member of the House of Delegates, member of the Board of Governors and treasurer of the association. In addition, he has been a frequent seminar speaker for the State Bar on maritime law, mediation, ethics, and professionalism. He has spoken on these topics for other organizations from Los Angeles to Dublin. In addition, he has authored papers on mediation, negotiation, and social security-related issues for various legal publications. As a young lawyer, Robert served as an instructor at McNeese State University teaching business law and related courses. As an experienced trial lawyer, he tried cases in numerous state and federal courts, as well as having argued cases in both state and federal courts of appeal including the Louisiana Supreme Court. He has been included in “The Best Lawyers in America” and is a Distinguished Fellow in the American College of Civil Trial mediators. In addition, Robert has served on numerous boards as a volunteer for various civic and religious organizations. He is married to Courtney Lepick Dampf from San Antonio. Robert and Courtney have three children, Morgia married to Todd Holmes; Ben married to Katherine Hand Dampf; and Jack. Robert and Courtney are the proud grandparents of five grandchildren, Greta; Frederick, and Jack Holmes; and Bobby and Eliza Dampf.
