Stephen P. Herbert

Stephen Herbert is the co-founder, chairman, and CEO of Armada Acquisition Corporation. He has served as Armada’s chief executive officer and chairman since its inception. 

Herbert was affiliated with USA Technologies (USAT, now dba Cantaloupe Inc.) in various positions from April 1996 to October 2019, notably serving as chairman and CEO as of November 2011. During his tenure at USAT, Herbert was recognized for his innovative leadership. Honors include Smart CEO and being a finalist for EY Entrepreneur of the Year in the Greater Philadelphia area. USAT also received the following awards: Frost and Sullivan for Customer Value Leadership in the Integrated Financial Services and Retail Market, IoT Evolution Smart Machines Innovation, and being named a Deloitte Fast 500 Company. 

In the decade prior, Herbert was employed by Pepsi-Cola, the beverage division of PepsiCo, Inc., in several capacities. When he departed the company, he served as the head of market strategy, where he was responsible for directing the development of market strategy for various distribution channels for Pepsi-Cola in North America. 

Herbert graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Louisiana State University. In addition to serving on the LSU Foundation National Board, he also serves on the Dean’s Advisory Council for the LSU College of Humanities. Herbert is married to fellow LSU graduate, Julie Harris Herbert, and they have been devoted donors and supporters of LSU and created an endowment in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences.
