James E. Maurin
James E. Maurin is one of the founders of Stirling Properties and served as its chairman from 1992 through 2012. His professional and civic activities include:
- International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC): member of its Board of Trustees and PAC. He served as chairman of ICSC for the 2004-2005 term. He has also received ICSC’s professional designation of Certified Shopping Center Manager (CSM) and Certified Shopping Center Executive (CRX).
- Ochsner Health System: past chairman and a member of the Board of Directors
- Highland-Cashiers Hospital: member of the Board of Directors
- Blueprint Louisiana: past chairman, member of the Executive Committee, founding trustee
- Louisiana State University: past chairman of the Tiger Athletic Foundation (TAF); chairman of LSU’s Real Estate Facilities Foundation; member of the LSU Foundation; member of the LSU College of Business Dean’s Advisory Council; founding member of the LSU Flagship Coalition Executive Committee; LSU Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters, 2015

Maurin graduated from LSU in 1970 with a degree in aerospace engineering. He received a Master of Business Administration from Tulane University in 1972 and began his business career as a CPA with the international accounting firm of Ernst and Ernst. He has been active in commercial real estate development and the shopping center industry for over 40 years.
